"Heavy is the head that wears the crown." As leaders we tend to find ourselves overwhelmed with the cares of our constituents, our families, and our intrinsic struggles. We must take a moment to remind ourselves that "another persons emergency, is not our fire", simply put; don't take on the problems of others. This year will bring about changes that will ultimately push many of us out of our comfort zones. It may even appear to be a bit risky at times, but if the hand of Lord is guiding your decision making, it will all become profitable in the end.
Stepping outside of the box requires us to let go of the reservations that have been thrown into said box by our constituents, our families, and our intrinsic struggles. Living life to the fullest is phrase that we have heard many times, but fail to take the leap of faith required to move our feet to the next step in the process. Which brings me to this point, life can be compared to a staircase. You have a choice to either go up the stairs or turn around and go back down the stairs. Either decision requires action but the latter requires a full 180 degree turn.
There are a few scriptures that come to mind. One reminds us to be anxious for nothing, the other says that in all your ways acknowledge Him, and lastly but surely not least it advises us that we should seek understanding in all things. Let this be a reminder to us all that what we need is in ourselves and in the Word of God. Therefore cast your cares, your constituents, and your family at the feet of the Savior.
